Mark your calendars, start saving your “pennies” and your appetites for a night of fellowship, fun, food, frivolity and fundraising for people Jesus loves.
On Saturday night, November 23rd (storm date Dec 7th) at 7 pm, the Refugee committee is hosting a silent auction of time, talents and treasures as well as a live cake auction in the fellowship hall of FBC! $5.00 tickets ($10.00 for a family) gives you entrance to the evening, where dessert and coffee or tea will be served after people have had the chance to circulate and bid on the silent auction. Then let the fun begin with our auctioneers who will present the cakes.
If you are wondering about how else you might support this event we will be needing donations of time, talents and treasures for the silent auction. Or perhaps you have a favourite cake recipe you know will draw a crowd.
Some things that have been donated in the past are;
Childcare, baking of bread, pies, cookies for Christmas or other events, Tree limbing, yard work, donation of weekend at a cottage, use of a boat or trailer, offer of meals, car detailing, other professional services, (hair cuts, spa’s) small works of art, photography, quilts, knitting…and the list goes on.
If you have something to donate to the silent auction please contact Hazel Robinson or Glenna Harper. Wendy DuBois is the contact person if you wish to donate a cake to the auction. This event takes our church community to make it happen. We thank you in advance for your support and are so excited for the opportunity to gather, enjoy time together and support our soon to arrive (hopefully) new family.
