Baptism by immersion as practiced at FBC is considered a rite ordained by Christ through which his disciples are called to express their humble confession of Christian faith and the willing obedience required of them to live a new life with Jesus as Lord.
In his final instructions to his disciples (Matthew 28: 16-20), Jesus included "baptize" among their covenant responsibilities to him. At FBC we, as a Christian community of believers, consider this biblical imperative toward baptizing integral to our own willing obedience to Christ.
